Managed Aquifer Recharge Workshop of DEEPWATER-CE projekt was organized by the Technical University of Munich (Technische Universität München ー TUM) on October 16, 2019. The DEEPWATER-CE project aims to develop integrated environmental management capacities of responsible public actors so that they become able to plan water resources and adopt Managed Aquifer Recharge schemes in Central European countries as a solution to climate change induced water scarcity. During the workshop, the objectives and tasks of the project were presented, in addition, lectures were given on Managed Aquifer Recharge as well. Dr. Rudy Rossetto from Sant’Anna University (Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, Pisa) gave a presentation about the results of the LIFE REWAT project and on the Suvereto infiltration basins. Professors from Technical University of Darmstadt (Technische Universität Darmstadt), Dr. Randolf Rausch introduced three case studies from the Arabian Peninsula and Dr. Christoph Schüth presented a MAR application from the Hessian Ried region, Germany. The ENeRAG project and the Eötvös Loránd University was represented by Zsóka Szabó (PhD student). The participation in the workshop was important for the future cooperation of the ENeRAG and DEEPWATER-CE projects, related to Managed Aquifer Recharge.
