On October 8 and 15, 2020, Hungarian workshops of the DEEPWATER-CE project were organized by the Mining and Geological Survey of Hungary (MBFSZ – supporter of the ENeRAG project) and the Geogold Kárpátia Ltd.
The DEEPWATER-CE project aims to develop integrated environmental management capacities of responsible public actors so that they become able to plan water resources and adopt managed aquifer recharge (MAR) schemes in central European countries as a solution to climate change induced water scarcity.
The aim of these events was to present knowledge-sharing tools on MAR systems and their applications, in particular for irrigation use, and the presentation of a decision support toolkit developed in the framework of the DEEPWATER-CE project to identify areas suitable for MAR. The large number of registered participants demonstrated the intense interest in MAR systems. This research area plays an important role in the ENeRAG project as well. The seminar was attended by representatives of the ENeRAG project, namely: Judit Mádl-Szőnyi (scientific coordinator of ENeRAG), Zsóka Szabó (PhD student), Márk Szijártó (PhD student) and Timea Trásy-Havril (WP leader of ENeRAG).
This workshop was a great opportunity to interact with supporting partners of ENeRAG and to lay the groundwork for common research directions with stakeholders.
