ELTE PhD student Ábel Markó presented his results related to his research topic (on the understanding and prevention of problems related to thermal water re-injection) in the form of lightning talk and virtual poster at the European Geothermal PhD Days (February 15-16, 2021), entitled “Approach to understand and avoid injection related problems in geothermal systems”.

The “Geothermal Winter School” (February 16-19, 2021) following the PhD days was organized within the MEET-H2020 project, concerning the topics covered by the project, focusing mainly on artificially Enhanced Geothermal Systems (EGS): deep geothermal heat and power generation in certain geological environments, and opportunities to increase performance in existing systems and wells.

The event provided a great opportunity to learn about the research of PhD students who are currently working in the field of geothermal energy, to build relationships with them, and to provide comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge on the topic of research and implementation related to EGS (Enhanced Geothermal System).
