In 2019, the Italian Chapter of the International Association of Hydrogeologists (IAH) organized the fourth edition of Flowpath, the National Meeting on Hydrogeology. This edition was held in Milan from 12 to 14 June 2019 and organized locally by the three main universities involved in the hydrogeological fields: Politecnico di Milano, Università degli Studi di Milano (UMIL Team) and Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca.

Flowpath Conference is a key biennial event for Italian and international hydrogeologists to exchange ideas and knowledge on different groundwater topics. On this important event, the ENeRAG project co-sponsored a session titled ’Groundwater Resource Management’. The session’s convenors were Prof. G. P. Beretta (Università degli Studi di Milano), Ing. G. Formentin (Tethys S.r.l.) and Dr. M. Rotiroti (Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca). The keynote lecture of the session was held by Dr. Manuel Sapiano (Malta’s Energy and Water Agency) about the management of groundwater resources in the Maltese Islands. The session aimed to foster scientific discussion about balancing the increasing demand of water with groundwater resources availability in terms of quantity and quality. In the successful session, 10 oral and 13 poster presentations were held. On the Flowpath conference, the colleagues of ENeRAG’s UMIL and ELTE teams participated with 5 oral and 4 poster presentations.
